Hania Aamir has been named the top Pakistani star of 2024, ranking ninth on the globally recognized Top 50 Asian Celebrities in the World list, published by a UK-based weekly newspaper.
The popular actress is the only Pakistani to make it into the top 20, outpacing global stars from Hollywood, Bollywood, the music industry, TV, literature, and social media.
Asjad Nazir, the entertainment editor who compiles the list, explained why Hania had such a significant impact in 2024. “The talented Pakistani star made headlines and saw a surge in global popularity. Her biggest achievement was her leading role in several hit dramas, which captivated millions worldwide and showcased her impressive acting skills. As the most-followed Pakistani celebrity on Instagram, she also serves as a positive role model, inspiring a new generation and openly addressing mental health issues.”
Other notable Pakistanis on the list include Riz Ahmed (11), Zayn Malik (21), Fahad Mustafa (23), Shazad Latif (24), Arooj Aftab (33), Hiba Bukhari (37), Atif Aslam (41), and Sajal Ali (48).
The Top 50 list honors Asian stars who excelled in 2024 through outstanding work, positive impact, and boundary-breaking achievements. Public input was also a significant factor, with readers and social media users nominating their favorite stars.
Hania has expressed that acting is her passion and she prefers to take on unique roles rather than traditional characters. “The love I receive from my audience inspires me to work harder and step out of my comfort zone with every new project,” she said.
