Actress-turned-artist Naimal Khawar, who is married to actor Hamza Ali Abbasi, has emphasized the importance of discussing parenting responsibilities before getting married.
In an appearance on Zara Noor Abbas’s show, Khawar shared insights into her marriage, motherhood, and personal growth. Known for her role in the drama Anaa, Khawar transitioned from acting after her marriage to Abbasi and has since focused on her art career while raising their son, Mustafa Abbasi.
Reflecting on motherhood, Khawar stressed how having children can significantly alter one’s life. She advised couples to have open, practical discussions about their roles and expectations regarding parenting. She shared that, before their son’s birth, she and Hamza decided on their responsibilities, with Khawar taking on household duties and childcare, while Abbasi became the primary breadwinner.
Khawar also addressed the challenges in relationships, suggesting that couples part ways respectfully when marriages become toxic. “If things aren’t going well, it’s better to separate than to raise children in a harmful environment,” she explained, warning of the potential psychological effects on children raised in a discordant home.
