
In the early hours of Monday morning, a fire in Clifton, Karachi, caused partial or total destruction of more than 30 vehicles.
The fire broke out on a plot located near the Qurtuba Mosque in Clifton Block 1, Shireen Jinnah Colony. It started suddenly among the abandoned vehicles, rapidly turning into a large blaze.
Local police quickly responded and called for assistance from the KMC Fire Brigade and Rescue 1122.
Three fire trucks were sent to the scene, and firefighting efforts began immediately. After roughly one to one-and-a-half hours of intense work, the fire was successfully brought under control.
Though the vehicles sustained significant damage, no casualties were reported.
A spokesperson for Rescue 1122 stated that the Central Command and Control received the first alert about the fire at 6:30 AM, with reports showing that over 20 abandoned vehicles were completely destroyed.
The Fire Brigade had received their first notification at around 5:30 AM, prompting the dispatch of two KMC fire trucks to the scene.
The vehicles affected were believed to be government-owned, and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
