The International Cricket Council (ICC) delegation is scheduled to visit Pakistan next week to review the arrangements for the highly anticipated Champions Trophy, which will be held in February and March of next year. As the host nation and reigning champions, Pakistan is preparing to showcase its cricketing prowess at this major 50-over tournament.
The delegation, consisting of senior ICC officials and representatives from various departments, will conduct a thorough inspection of the event’s logistics. Their review will cover a range of critical elements, including the match schedule, practice sessions, venue preparations, and ticketing systems. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will present updates on the significant venue upgrades that have been undertaken to meet international standards.
In readiness for the tournament, the PCB has invested Rs 12.80 billion in enhancing the facilities at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, the National Stadium in Karachi, and the Rawalpindi International Cricket Stadium. These stadiums are scheduled to host the Champions Trophy from February 19 to March 9, 2025.
The tournament will feature two groups: Group A with Pakistan, India, New Zealand, and Bangladesh, and Group B with Australia, England, Afghanistan, and South Africa. The ICC is anticipated to share the finalized schedule with the PCB within the next two days, ensuring that all preparations align with the planned timelines.
