
The Sindh government has invited Turkiye and Sweden to increase their investment in the province. Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah held separate meetings with the Turkish and Swedish ambassadors, as well as the Consul General of Oman, at the Chief Minister’s House, to discuss mutual interests and strengthen bilateral ties.
In his meeting with Turkish Ambassador Irfan Neziroglu, Shah welcomed him to Pakistan, emphasizing the special relationship between the two nations. The Turkish Ambassador highlighted the participation of leading Turkish companies in the IDEAS Exhibition 2024 and reaffirmed Pakistan’s significance to Turkey. Shah invited Turkish companies to invest in sectors like energy, coal mining, and other natural resource-based projects in Sindh, suggesting cooperation under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. It was decided that Chief Minister’s Special Assistant Qasim Naveed would maintain communication with the Turkish Ambassador.
Shah also met with Swedish Ambassador Alexandra Berg von Linde, who was visiting Karachi for the first time since her appointment. The Swedish Ambassador highlighted the 75-year diplomatic relationship between Pakistan and Sweden and expressed interest in exploring investment opportunities in Sindh. Shah urged her to help boost trade between the two countries, noting a decline in recent years. He invited Swedish companies to invest in Sindh, particularly in the areas of wind and solar energy, as well as water management. Shah emphasized that providing clean drinking water and affordable electricity is a priority for the Sindh government.
Additionally, the Consul General of Oman, Engineer Sami Abdullah Al-Khanjari, invited Shah to Oman’s National Day celebrations, to which the Chief Minister extended preemptive congratulations and highlighted the close ties between the two countries.
