Sajjad Mustafa Syed, Chairman of the Pakistan Software Houses Association (P@SHA), commended the Pakistani IT firms participating in the Gulf Information Technology Exhibition (GITEX) in Dubai, describing their involvement as a “game changer.”
GITEX, one of the largest tech exhibitions globally, connects industry leaders with tech startups, government officials, investors, and corporate buyers. This year’s event, running from October 14 to 18, is particularly crucial for Pakistan as it showcases the country’s growing IT capabilities and aims to penetrate the lucrative Middle Eastern markets.
Pakistan was also recognized as the “Tech Destination of the Year” at the event, highlighting the rapid advancement of its IT sector. P@SHA remarked that this recognition would significantly boost the growth of IT and information technology-enabled services (ITeS) exports.
Moreover, Pakistani firms organized an event called Pakistan Night, facilitating networking among industry leaders to explore business partnerships, investments, joint ventures, and collaborations, thereby strengthening the ties between Pakistan and the UAE in various tech domains. The exhibition includes 80 Pakistani companies from diverse IT sectors and support industries, fostering the development of a tech ecosystem vital for the country’s socioeconomic progress.
