Indian Punjabi rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh has expressed his strong desire to perform in Pakistan, hoping to entertain his fans across the border soon.
At the 2024 IIFA Awards in Abu Dhabi, Singh was asked about his Pakistani fanbase on the red carpet. In a viral video, he shared a heartfelt message: “Pray that I get to perform in Pakistan soon.”
He also expressed admiration for several Pakistani artists, including Mehdi Hassan, Ghulam Ali, Ali Azmat, Atif Aslam, and Sanam Marvi. Singh noted that for the past 12 years, he has performed in Dubai, where many Pakistani fans attend his concerts. However, he acknowledged the eagerness of fans in Pakistan, who cannot travel to Dubai, to see him perform in their own country.
Looking to the future, Singh confirmed his upcoming plans, stating, “I am heading to the UK for the first time next year, and if time allows, I would love to come to Pakistan to perform.”
Earlier this month, he reflected on his spiritual journey, sharing how he explored Islamic teachings through Sufi scholars and spiritual leaders in Mohali, Punjab, in 2007. This experience greatly deepened his understanding of Islam and influenced his views on faith.
Reflecting on his past, Singh admitted that after achieving fame in 2012, he lost his way but has since returned to a more grounded belief in God following his recovery from illness in 2018.
