Secretary of Health Balochistan, Muhammad Saleh Baloch, officially launched the Center of Excellence for Child Development (CECD) at Sandman Provincial Hospital, with support from UNICEF.
During the inauguration ceremony, several notable figures were present, including Dr. Amin Mandukhail, the Director General of Health Services Balochistan; Dr. Maryam Darwish, Chief of UNICEF; Antony Grama, Chief of Nutrition at UNICEF; and Dr. Ishaq Panizai, Medical Superintendent of Sandman Provincial Hospital. Also in attendance were Dr. Naeemullah Zirkoon, Director of the Nutrition Program Balochistan; Dr. Owais Tareen, Deputy Director of the Balochistan Nutrition Directorate; Dr. Sabah Shuja, Early Childhood Development Manager at UNICEF; and Dr. Yasmeen.
The establishment of the CECD marks a significant step towards enhancing child health and development services in the region, underscoring the collaborative efforts between the Balochistan government and UNICEF to improve nutrition and healthcare for children.
