Prominent Pakistani designer Faraz Manan has been included in this week’s prestigious annual Business of Fashion (BoF) 500 list, which recognizes the most influential individuals in the global fashion industry.
The BoF 500, curated by The Business of Fashion magazine, highlights the contributions of various professionals across the fashion ecosystem, including luxury brands, high street fashion, media, technology, and sustainability.
Manan began his career as a fashion designer in 2003 and has since established himself as one of Pakistan’s leading designers under his own label, Faraz Manan. His creations have been worn by top Bollywood actresses such as Kareena Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Sridevi, Alia Bhatt, and Kiara Advani.
“Honored and delighted to be a part of The BoF 500: people shaping the global fashion industry,” Manan expressed on his Instagram profile on Friday.
The BoF 500 noted on its website that Manan is a prominent figure in Pakistan’s fashion scene and a “go-to” designer for couture bridal and formal wear across the South Asia region.
“Manan quickly gained recognition for his signature style, which features intricate embellishments, luxurious fabrics, and a contemporary flair,” the BoF 500 stated.
In 2015, he became one of the first South Asian designers to open a boutique in Dubai, and by 2024, his business had garnered over a million followers on Instagram.
The admiration for Manan’s work from Bollywood stars has helped position his brand as a cultural bridge between India and Pakistan, two neighboring countries where cultural exchanges are often limited due to political tensions.
