Organizers of the Paris 2024 Olympics have reportedly enlisted Hollywood action star Tom Cruise to perform a thrilling stunt at the closing ceremony.
While currently filming “Mission: Impossible 8” in Europe, Cruise is set to be a major attraction at the closing event on August 11, according to Variety. Sources suggest that Cruise may skyrocket to the “Hollywood Sign” to pass the Olympic torch to Los Angeles for the 2028 Games.
Tom Cruise, who previously attended the opening ceremony of the Paris Games, which featured Celine Dion’s comeback performance, was spotted filming a scene with a large flag in May. It’s anticipated that he will transfer this flag to Los Angeles in preparation for the 2028 Olympics.
During the women’s swimming events, Cruise commented to the media, “It’s awesome. Great stories, great athletes. It’s incredible what they have to do, the sense of accomplishment.”
The Paris Olympics opening ceremony attracted 28.6 million viewers in the US, according to preliminary data from Comcast’s NBCUniversal, marking the most-watched summer Games opening since London 2012. The ceremony featured athlete delegations floating down the Seine past Paris landmarks and Celine Dion’s first public performance in years.
The Paris 2024 Olympics officially began on July 26, with thousands of athletes from around the world competing. Among them are seven top athletes from Pakistan, a nation of 250 million people, participating in the Games.
